The Iguanas

There were several types of lizards, but the run away favorites were the iguanas.  They are all pretty tame, despite their mean looks.  The marine iguanas found here are the only aquatic iguanas in the world.  It was wild to be sitting at lunch and to see this big guy cruising along right below us.  The one on the right was catching a few rays in the sun after a little dip in the pool.  I think he's about to order a mojito.

There were also land iguanas, which, like all of the wildlife in the Galapagos Islands, varied from island to island.  I didn't take sufficiently copious notes to tell you which island these yellow ones were on, but, suffice it to say that they were on just one or two islands, and that they were quite pretty, in an E.T. Phone Home kind of way.

I can't remember if these two shots are of land iguanas or marine iguanas.  They seemed to be pretty sociable types, though, given the group sunbathing.  They look a little hungover... maybe trying to get their bearings before another night of wild iguana partying.

And Such

While no one likes to play second fiddle, the lava lizards and the Galapagos snake were just not quite as billable as the big guys.  We took their pictures to keep from hurting their feelings...
